Our Heritage Building
As a heritage-listed building, the Young Visitor Information Centre has some limitations when it comes to accessibility. We’re continuing to look for ways to improve and make the centre as welcoming as possible, while also preserving an important part of our town’s history.

- Drop-off/pick-up area directly outside the main entrance (mind the kerb)
- Transport NSW public bus arrives twice a day
- Accessible unisex restroom with gentle slope leading to it
- Automatic doors for entrance
- Raised traction strips on small inclines
- Open rooms and pathways for easy maneuvering
- Seating available inside and some outside
Sensory
- On occasion, calming and quiet music played in reception
- Quiet zone in Burrangong Art Gallery, away from music and TV
- TV displaying Hilltops videos with audio and subtitles
- TV room’s seating also has a throw blanket and Young history books to read
- Pull-up banners featuring large, easy-to-read text about the building and the town’s history
- Minimal fragrances or air fresheners and no smoking or vaping zone both inside and out
