In the heart of our three major towns, Boorowa, Harden-Murrumburrah and Young, the Hilltops Council Libraries are where curious minds, big imaginations and local stories come together. They’re your go-to spots for quiet reading, community connection and everything in between for both locals and visitors alike.

Whether you’re after a good read, some quiet time or a place to catch up on emails with free Wi-Fi, the libraries have you sorted. You’ll find books (including large print and talking books), magazines, DVDs, CDs and multimedia kits available for loan, with something for every age and interest.

All three branches offer public computers with free Wi-Fi internet access, Microsoft Office programs and USB compatibility. Printing and photocopying are available at every branch (fees apply) and you can scan documents to PDF or image for free at Harden and Young libraries.

The libraries also host a variety of events and activities throughout the year for families, children and the wider community including story-time sessions and school holiday fun to author talks and local workshops.

A Housebound Reader Service is available to residents in Boorowa, Harden-Murrumburrah and Young who are unable to visit the library due to age, illness or disability. All library items are available for loan, and bulk deliveries can be arranged for nursing homes, aged care centres and similar institutions. If a book or resource isn’t in the collection, the library team may be able to purchase it or help track down a digital version, depending on its age and availability.

Residents and not-for-profit groups can also book spaces at the Young Library for meetings, study sessions and community activities.
