Milvale
The village of Milvale is locate 25 minutes west of Young on the way to Temora.
The Milvale Area is the largest grain growing region in the entire Hilltops Region. The silo complex situated in Milvale village received 150,000 tonnes of grain in 2021/2022 (an estimated value of $60 Million) and a record breaking 177,000 tonnes of grain in 2020/2021 season, making it the largest receival site in the Hilltops region.
Rustic metal sculptures are a feature of the area. A local landowner has created a life-sized horse pulling a vintage mower being steered by a man and watched by an emu and a kangaroo. The sculptures are made from recycled scrap metal and are a tribute to our ancestors. All of the metal was sourced from local farms from implements that our predecessors once used. Many travellers stop and have their photos taken either on or beside the horse.
